renew + empower in the glebe

My blog just turned two and I was too busy to notice. For real. So the other day I sat down with my agenda (yup, I'm old school) to take a good look at my priorities. I'm a people person and I'm constantly attending events and meeting wonderful people, but I've gotta learn to make more time for myself.

You've heard me say this before, but I always think of fall as a new year and a fresh start. So this year I've decided I want to renew and empower myself to take better care of ME.

And I'm teaming up with 5 incredible women-run Glebe businesses to do just that. I love these ladies! From left to right:

- Sarah Thompson of The Dailey Method

- Sarah Whiston of Glebe Health House

- Rebecca McKeen of McKeen Metro Glebe

- Oresta Korbutiak of Oresta Organic Skincare

- Lori Dyck of Showpony Hair

Throughout October, I'll be visiting The Dailey Method Ottawa, Oresta Organic Skin Care, Glebe Health House, Showpony Hair, and McKeen Metro Glebe to build some new habits and focus on me.

Whether that means sweating it out on the spin bike, caring for my skin, indulging in a massage, or making the right choices at the grocery store, I'm going all-in.

Be sure to follow along with me on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter because I've already started sharing my journey -- and I hope I can encourage some of you to start your own journey too. You know what? I've got something BIG planned for you. Read on.

$1000 to renew *YOU*

I've teamed up with these Glebe businesses to spoil one of you with a prize worth over $1000! Here's what's up for grabs:

From Showpony Hair: an in-depth consultation, the service of your choice, and a tutorial with a senior stylist to help you develop confidence in your hair routine. The stylist will help you explore product choice, brush usage, blow drying techniques, styling options, and will suggest a pattern for maintenance.

Showpony Hair

From ORESTA organic skin care: an ORESTA Holistic Facial. This unique treatment is much more than a facial. It's a results-oriented treatment that restores the skin’s natural radiance, firmness and glow while soothing the body, spirit, and energy. ORESTA's been organic since before it was cool!

Oresta Organic Skin Care

From: Glebe Health House: a one-hour massage with one of their registered massage therapists (owner and RMT Sarah Whiston is my jam), plus post-treatment recommendations for self care. You'll also receive a guided grocery store tour (at McKeen Metro Glebe!) with holistic nutritionist Kristin Shropshire of Glebe Health House.

From The Dailey Method Barre + Cycle Studio: renew your alignment in mind, body, and spirit with an unlimited one-month pass at this phenomenal Glebe fitness studio. You'll never have so much fun working out, I promise! Sarah's cycle classes are seriously addictive. She even does themed rides like 80s hits and Broadway tunes!

From McKeen Metro Glebe: enjoy a wholesome gift basket to fill your fridge plus a $100 gift card to explore McKeen Metro Glebe in-store, or to try their handy new online ordering and delivery service. I adore this charming store because they've stuck to their principals (family + local + quality) despite the rise of gigantic big box supermarkets.
