fabulous finds at true bijoux

Local Ottawa jeweller True Bijoux has been one of my go-to spots for years. It's on Sparks Street just a few blocks from my day job, so I often pop over on my lunch break for a look-see. Their boutique is packed with everything from sterling silver to diamonds.

I especially love their Petit Bijoux line: fully designed and created in-house right here in Ottawa, using recycled materials so you can shop sustainably. It's incredible value, with flawlessly made pieces for a fraction of what you'd normally pay for fine jewellery. Quantities are extremely limited -- in some cases just one! -- so don't miss out.

quartz teardrop earrings

These drop earrings feature a stone called rutilated quartz that has a black and grey marble effect, making every pair unique. I love these because you can easily dress them down with jeans or dress them up with a cocktail outfit. They're available in gold or silver, $95.

semi-precious tennis bracelet

This is another piece that works just as well with jeans as a glitzy outfit: True Bijoux's tennis bracelet with semi-precious stones. This style is available in amethyst and laboradorite (mostly purple tones) or moonstone and treated iolite (mostly blue tones) in gold-plated sterling silver. There's a silver version with rose quartz and amethyst too! $149.

pebble statement earrings

This style is a longtime favourite of mine. Available in silver or gold, these brushed pebble earrings are a statement stye without the weight. They're super light and won't tug at your ears, even after hours of wear. $95.

semi-precious cluster earrings

I wore these cluster earrings to a recent wedding and loved them: the stones catch the light beautifully! They're a great gift for those who prefer studs to dangly earrings, and come in a variety of colour combinations including silver or gold settings, and stones in cool and warm tones. $95.

hoop earrings with Drop stone

These are such a steal. Available in silver or gold, these little hoops have with a semi-precious drop stone in chalcedony (the blueish tone below) or amethyst, and you can easily slide the stone off if you want to wear the hoops on their own. There's also a matching necklace for this style, in yellow gold or sterling silver. $59.

tahitian pearl lariat necklace

This is such a unique upcylced necklace. Lindsay, True Bijoux's founder and head designer, created these in-house using grey Tahitian pearls, baroque vintage findings from an estate collection, and a sterling silver lariat chain. The pearl hangs freely but if you'd like to tack it in place at your own perfect length, True Bijoux will do so free of charge. This y-shaped style is perfect for everything from plunging necklines to turtlenecks! $270.

rose gold Diamond hoops

These are quite the splurge but oh so stunning! Crafted in rose gold with a total weight of 1 carat in brilliant cut diamonds, these inside-out hoop earrings have a super secure closure that's easy to use: squeeze to open or close and these beauties will be held securely in place. If you're in the mood to treat yourself, these showstoppers are $3595.

art deco diamond ring

This spectacular ring deserves a few pictures. With major art deco vibes, this one of a kind marquise diamond ring features a unique east-west setting in 14k white gold. The centre diamond is .61 carats, and the whole ring has a total weight of .85 carats. It's approximately size 7, but for $150 True Bijoux will resize any ring in-house to fit anyone. Only one available, $2995.

more FINDS in-store

True Bijoux is bursting with fabulous finds, so many that I couldn't fit them all into this post. Some of them you won't even find on their website, so be sure to pop by their Sparks Street boutique!
