Sometimes you just need a good hair day, you know? Today I'm introducing you to Society Salon and Blow Dry Bar, a hidden gem located downtown on Sparks Street. Look for the sandwich board that cheekily declares "MAKING SPARKS STREET BEAUTIFUL AGAIN" and you'll know you're in the right place.
Stefania at Society Salon has been responsible for the vast majority of my good hair days of late. She's styled my hair for pretty much every major event I've attended this year, including hosting red carpet arrivals at the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards and the National Arts Centre Gala.
She even added nearly two feet of extensions so I could have this dreamy updo for my interview with Michael J. Fox! Side note: he's completely charming in real life and he and Saint Alicia are still tight. Be still my heart (#TheGoodWifeForever).
But back to Stefania. She'll help you rock a red carpet and she coifs world leaders on the regular (NBD), but she'll make you feel incredible even if it's just a random Thursday night. She truly listens, she knows hair types inside out and backwards, and she asks for feedback throughout the appointment to make sure you're loving your style.
And her blow dry bar is LIT.
Grab an appointment online (book right from your phone on the Mind Body app!) and off you go. If you're not sure what kind of style you're after, she'll help you out with her local blow dry style guide complete with drawings by local makeup artist @facesbynoah.
Classic volume. Round brushed. Très chic.
Super straight and shiny with a little edge.

Loose and sexy natural waves. Like you just spent the day at the beach.
Red Carpet curls. Maximum volume. Old Hollywood glam. But on the Hill.
A blow dry at Society is $35, and you can add fun options like a braid for $10, or extensions for $10 (bring your own and they'll work them into your style. After your first visit I can pretty much guarantee you'll be hooked, so grab a 5-pack for $150 (works out to $30 each) or a 10-pack for $250 ($25 each, sweet).
