Since the winning dad will be visiting many of these local businesses to enjoy his prizes, he either needs to be local to Ottawa - OR - be visiting you if you're local to Ottawa.

Beyond The Pale craft beer

we have a winner!

Here's our winning entry! A big congrats to Sharon Meisner and her father in law Tim Meisner, who she nominated. Here's her submission:

"I would like to nominate my father in law. At 28, my husband was diagnosed with advanced cancer which spread throughout his body. My husband needed a lot of help. I fell apart and could barely take care of myself. My mother in law (hubby's mom) fell apart at the devastation of watching her youngest child have a seriously hard path ahead of him.

My father in law, a very accomplished man in his own right, stopped everything and took care of us all. Taking his son to chemo 5 days a week, getting his medicine, then months on end in the hospital after 5 surgeries. My father in law was a rockstar and took care of all of us. Most people would check in on me or his mother as traditionally we are the care takers.

After two years of fighting my husband is now in remission. I wholeheartedly believe my father in law deserves this prize package as he was the one person that took care of all of us and got very little recognition for the amazing job he did."

Okay everyone, get your hankies because here's a photo from Sharon showing her hubby and her amazing father in law. Tim, congratulations and enjoy your prize!
