cheers to 2017!

Good gravy, the new year is just around the corner. Globally speaking, 2016 was a rough year. Don't get me started on the passing of David Bowie, election results in the United States, or the atrocities in Aleppo and elsewhere.

On a personal level, 2016 was quite the year for me.

After a decade with the feds, I took a leap of faith and left my comfortable government job. I poured myself into my blog, where I hosted nearly 100 giveaways and handed out almost $20,000 in prizes.

Then I landed an incredible opportunity in digital marketing at the National Arts Centre, and among other things, I had the chance interview Sophie Grégoire Trudeau live on the NAC red carpet. Somebody pinch me!

It was a year of big ups and stressful downs, but I wouldn't change a thing. I feel incredibly grateful to be where I am, and I'm even more grateful to have all you folks following along. I could never have imagined how many truly wonderful people this little slice of the internet would bring into my life. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Let's raise a glass to the year that was and welcome the year that lies ahead, shall we?

Here's a recipie for one of my favourite cocktails, and my pals Pot & Panty have everything you need.

Cheers to 2017!
