hang on to summer with clarins (giveaway)

Talk of fall days and back-to-school is everywhere, but I'm simply not ready to say goodbye to summer. In Ottawa our summers are far too short, so why let go of lazy days and glowing skin when we've officially got three weeks left?

Fall beauty looks are filling my Instagram feed (and they're gorgeous), but they'll have to wait for now. Because today I'm sharing three Clarins beauty faves that'll help you hang on to summer! They're easy to use, incredibly natural looking, and yes, you'll be able to keep using them into the fall. Let's get started!

The key to an effortless summer look is a great canvas. Makes sense, right? First, care for your skin with a solid skincare routine (check out my Clarins skincare faves here), including plenty of moisture to replenish what's been lost to the sun and heat. Then smooth on this gorgeous primer.

I've been using Clarins Instant Light Complexion Illuminating Base ($38/30ml pump) in 01 Rose, and I adore it. It leaves behind an ever so slight pearly sheen that makes you look like you're wearing a Snapchat filter. It's that good. Not shiny or strobe-y, but just pearly enough to make everyone think you're getting 8 hours of sleep a night.

This primer is available in five shades ranging from the palest rose to golden peach to deep caramel.

After a few months of daily use I still have a good amount of product left and the pump hasn't gunked up on me once. I didn't detect any scent and the formula didn't upset my somewhat irritable skin. Added bonus: you'll look just as ethereal wearing it through fall and winter. I'm definitely grabbing another tube when I run out.

I've been using this Clarins bronzer for nearly 6 weeks and it looks like I've barely scratched the surface of this hefty compact. It's gonna last for ages! The power is very finely milled and blends into the skin beautifully. And the shades are so natural! Zero hint of orange, which means it's nearly impossible to over-apply.

The Clarins Bronzing Duo is available in 01 Light (my shade above), 02 Medium, and 03 Dark to flatter a wide variety of skin tones. Plus each bronzer contains both a lighter and a deeper shade so you can really build that glow.

The compact itself is beautiful, wrapped up in shades of gold and tortoise shell, and it feels substantial and luxurious in my hand. It's officially knocked a certain cult-status bronzer out of the top spot in my beauty collection. THERE. I SAID IT.

clarins instant light lip comfort oil, $25

I'm a big fan of long-wearing matte lipsticks, but after a while they can leave my lips dry and flaky. Plus who wants a heavy lipstick if you're headed to the beach or the cottage? Slick on a layer of Clarins nourishing Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil instead.

As the name suggests, it's made with an infusion of plant oils (hazelnut, raspberry, and jojoba) that will nourish and hydrate your lips. The sponge tip makes application easy, and it's available in three shades that leave just a whisper of colour: choose from 01 Honey (hint of warmth), 02 Raspberry (hint of pink like mine above), or 03 Berry Red (hint of red).

And best of all: this stuff ain't the least bit sticky. This is not your Bonne Bell lipgloss from days of yore.

So get a glow, add a slick of gloss, and you're out the door. And off to the beach/cottage/picnic! After all, we've still got a summer long weekend coming up, let's make the most of it.
