new years eve on the town: two six ate (giveaway)

Earlier this week I launched a New Year's Eve giveaway for the homebodies so be sure to enter if you fancy a night in. But as promised, now I've got a giveaway for the partiers and night owls! I've teamed up with Two Six Ate to give you a night on the town. Pretty sweet eh?

Two Six {Ate} is one of my favourite restos in Ottawa, and it's run by the 100% awesome team of Emily Ienzi (front of house) and Steve Harris (heads up the kitchen). They're smack in the middle of Little Italy at 268 Preston (near Gladstone) and you'll see plenty of nods to Italy on the menu. Their food is inspired by local, fresh, sustainable products, and they create contemporary variations on classic munchies -- with just about everything prepared in house. And they're open Wednesday-Monday from 4:00pm-2:00am.

They change up the menu all the time, which keeps regulars like me coming back for more. That said, Steve if you ever take your confit poutine off the menu I'll be inconsolable. Two Six Ate's food, cocktails are creative, delicious, and affordable, and the service is always top notch (shout-out to Roopa!). Added bonus: it's stumbling distance from chez moi. This is my local. I love it.

I was SUPER stoked when Emily and Steve told me they were working on something for New Year's, and I've got all the deets for ya. $65/person gets you a 4-course table d'hôte menu, a glass of bubbly, and access to the best party on Preston Street. They'll have two seatings: an early service from 5:00pm-7:30pm, and a late service from 8:00pm-10:00, and you can add wine pairings for $30/person. Emily and Steve always pick out great wines so I'll definitely be taking them up on that.

After dinner DJ Grusm (a Sunday night staple at Two Six Ate) will be spinning tunes well into the new year. If you’re planning on skipping dinner and just want to come by for the party, feel free to stop in anytime after 10:30pm: no lines, no cover, just good times and a wicked dance party!

To reserve your seats for dinner, call Two Six Ate at 613.695.8200 and be sure to mention any allergies when you book. Now get a load of this octopus:
