now open: pot & pantry (giveaway)

Full disclosure: this post is totally 100% biased. Here's why: one of my best pals just opened a downtown kitchen boutique called Pot & Pantry, and I'm smitten. Her shop is bursting with polished copper dishes, handcrafted pottery, and cast-iron skillets that will become your new kitchen staples.

My pal Robin has an eye for detail and retail, and she was general manager of some of Ottawa's best-known kitchen shops for years. But her touch is so unique that I remained hopeful she'd have a shop of her own one day. And now she does!

Meet Robin and her hubby Jun:

You may remember this good looking pair from a blog post last month: they got hitched this fall and somehow opened a beautiful shop just 6 weeks later!

You'll find Pot & Pantry in Centretown at 244 Elgin Street at the corner of Cooper. The shop is filled with locally crafted candles (by Blackett & Co. who I featured back in September!), pizza printed tea towels (YUP), the prettiest kitchenware, and soaps and oil blends crafted by none other than her Auntie Arlene.

In fact, Robin personally selected every item you'll find at Pot & Pantry, and I apologize to your wallets because you'll want it all. Like these beautiful Tunisian tea towels:

My favourite thing about her shop? Step through the door and you'll feel more like you've stepped into your bestie's cozy apartment than a typical store.

Robin has effortlessly balanced modern kitchen tools and trinkets with antique furniture, vintage finds, wooden beams, and her dramatic pineapple accent wall -- go snap a pineapple selfie!

grand opening party

Pot & Pantry quietly opened its doors a few days ago, and the official grand opening bash is this weekend. You won't want to miss it!

Stop by on Saturday and Sunday to meet local makers, sample artisanal treats, and Robin will even have a cotton candy cart. For real!

The deets:
